Installation at NYIT

Buildings and Installations by Elisabetta Terragni at The New York Institute of Technology, Old Westbury Campus, 2005.
I had in mind an installation of very simple materials to create an atmosphere such as I have realized for some of my museum installations and private dwellings. A good deal of photography--both in black/white and color--helped remind visitors of the true scale and nature of the projects.
The exhibition area lent itself to such a plan, allowing the perimeter to be as diaphanous as possible, while dividing the space into three islands. Each of these islands presented a project of a different type. By de-emphasizing the physical nature of the installation itself, I was able to convey some of imaginative dimensions of my built work by means of secondary elements.
