Museum services at Le Gallerie: Ticket Booth and Gathering Space.
As part of a larger ongoing project to transform the temporary istallations of 2009 into a permanent Museum at Le Gallerie in Trento, a few objects start to populate the scene.
Apart from the info point, a ticket booth and a gathering space mark the outdoor area beween the two Tunnels.
The Torpedo, a minimal elongated space for the ticket booths, counterbalanced by a 25 m long slender canopy, resembles a playful gas station where one can gather, buy tickets, rest on benches or wander around.
In the last few years the landscape of this part of the city has changed radically. The requalification of the old Piedicastello neighborhood with gardens and public spaces was welcome but erased completely the traces of what had been there before, the highway.
For the area facing the entrance of the Museum we wanted to keep the memory of the place visible. The black asphalt with white signage is guiding vistors to the various activities. Sound barriers and fences have been kept too, but the cars have been kicked out to let visitors enjoy this new outdoor space that anticipates the immersive experience in the tunnels without forgetting the origin of the site entirely.
