White is a color with its own brightness without tint. More precisely, it contains all the colors of the electromagnetic spectrum but does not show them. Every year the Venice Biennale breaks its geographical and temporal limits of the past, in all the sectors it represents, Art, Architecture, Dance, Music and Theatre.
The calendar is getting longer, the spaces are expanding giving voice to new participants, the network of international relations is becoming denser and more complex and the events in the city are multiplying.
In this proliferation of complex chromatic images we propose white as an evocative absence. The obvious reference is to the pages of books but also to the stone of Venice which brings with it the lightness of the material and the complexity of the meanings. The main color is associated with the Lion of San Marco, signature of the Biennale, playing between identity and diversity, primary elements and variability of the sign. The few colors we introduce are those of the lagoon atmosphere, soft and subtle, the shades of Tiepolo.
